“Booked Hwadamsup!” you announce in the group chat. Someone asks: “What time is the monorail?” There is a reason to reopen the reservation: admission to the garden and a monorail ride are separate tickets.

1. Autumn bookings have already opened
The official notice lists October 23–November 15 as the peak season and September 16 at 13:00 as the online opening. Additional monorail booking products were scheduled to open September 17 at 13:00. Use NOL through the official website’s online-booking link. Check remaining dates and quantities there. “Bookings are open” and “my preferred slot is available” are different statements. We found no basis to promise a particular time when cancelled tickets reappear or sold-out slots reopen.
Before betting the entire trip on one date and time, agree with your companions on two possible dates, feasible arrival windows and whether the monorail is essential. A family meeting held after opening the booking screen makes the choice harder. This preparation order is an editorial suggestion.
2. Which tickets do you choose separately?
Published regular admission is ₩11,000 for adults, ₩9,000 for seniors and teenagers, and ₩7,000 for children, excluding the monorail. Check the official age categories and discount exceptions. 3. Is the longest monorail route always best?
These are the regular fares and listed ride durations for departures from Station 1. Children have separate fares. Official monorail routes.

If strolling slowly through the scenery is the point, there is no need to ride every section. If a companion finds long walks difficult, mobility may matter more than cost. Choose what happens after you get off as carefully as the ride. You cannot get off midway and reboard on the same ticket, so do not treat it as a hop-on, hop-off pass.
For example, two adults paying regular admission and taking Station 1→2 pay 2×(11,000+5,000)=₩32,000. Choosing the loop gives 2×(11,000+9,000)=₩40,000. These are simple sums of the checked regular fares, excluding transport, meals and Hwadamchae. Whether the ₩8,000 difference is worthwhile depends on your companions’ walking plan more than their photo preferences.
4. Watch two clocks on the booking screen
Choose the entry time first, then consider whether you can reach the monorail in time. Parking the car is not the same as arriving at the garden entrance. Combining the drive, parking, walk to the entrance and admission check into one vague time can make the itinerary too tight.
For an imaginary itinerary, make five boxes: leave home → finish parking → enter → reach the station → board. Fill them with timings appropriate to your origin and companions’ walking pace. That is why this article does not prescribe one minimum arrival buffer for everyone.

5. Before chasing cancellations, check your own cancellation terms
Avoid overlapping bookings on the assumption that you can always obtain a full refund. Conditions can differ between admission, monorail and programmes, and depend on the date and time remaining before boarding. Read each product’s refund terms immediately before payment and share them with your companions.
The monorail is a timed product. Arriving late because of traffic or parking differs from an operator cancellation for weather or inspection. The official guidance provides a full monorail-ticket refund if weather or urgent inspection prevents operation, but that does not extend to reimbursement of other trip costs. Monorail conditions.
